Sure, you may have a spring, Christmas, Halloween, fall, or summer wreath, but do you have a St. Patrick’s Day Wreath. Well don’t stress, you can just make one with this simple instructions.
Materials
- Gold ric rac
- Green felt in four shades – about 1 square of each color
- Small pins
- Gold beads – two sizes
- 12 inch foam wreath
- Rainbow colors of felt or fabric – small scraps
- Burlap about 1/2 yard
- Glue for burlap
- Thread to match felt
Directions
Step 1: Cut the burlap into 3 inch strips, and then glue the end of the burlap the back of the wreath and begin wrapping.
Step 2: As you continue wrapping your wreath, make sure that each strip starts and ends on the back.
Step 3: Now after you’ve wrapped your wreath, you’ll need to take your green felt and cut out leaves, they will used to form the shamrock. You’ll want to cut two different sizes in two different colors of large leaves. Cut them into heart shapes and you’ll want to have an open “V” at the bottom of the leaf.
Step 4: To form the leaf, take a smaller different colored heart and place it on top of a bigger different colored heart. Then you’ll want to fold it in half and then sew the opening closed using tiny stiches or if you prefer you can glue it.
Step 5: For the shamrock you’ll need three or four leaves. Then you can glue a small felt circle to a felt stem for a base, and glue or sew the shamrock to the base and stem.
Step 6: Now using a straight pin and a gold bead, thread the bread onto the pin and then stick the pin into the center of the shamrock. Now you can place it on your wreath and you can change it’s look easily. Repeat the process for all your shamrocks and then pin them to your wreath.
Step 7: To create the pennant, you need to cut out several rainbow colored felt triangles. Take the felt triangles and glue them to the gold ric rac and tie a bow on each end.
Step 8: Using the pins, stick the pennant to the top of the wreath.
Step 9: For your final step you’ll take the beads and pins and stick them all over your wreath to add some sparkle.
