Keeping your car in good shape not only keeps you safest on the road (and that’s always our biggest priority!) but it can also help with the resale value of your car when you choose to upgrade a few years down the line. Following these easy automotive maintenance tips will ensure your vehicle runs at its best for years to come!

Get Regular Oil Changes

Motor oil keeps everything in your car running smoothly, and a low supply or soiled supply of motor oil can wreak havoc if left untreated. Though every car is different – especially today as automotive technology continues to advance – but the general rule of thumb is that you should get an oil change about every three months or every 3,000 miles.

Have Your Fluids Checked

Like the motor oil, the fluids in your car all play important roles in keeping various systems in your car running at peak performance. You’ll want to check the power steering fluid, the antifreeze, the coolant, the transmission fluid, and the wiper fluids every month or so to ensure they are filled to the proper levels. You can perform these checks yourself, or our team would be glad to check your fluids when you come in for another maintenance appointment.

Keep Your Tires in Good Shape

There are three easy things that you can do to maximize the lifespan and safety of your tires. The first is performing monthly visual inspections to check the treads of your tires. When looking at your tires, you’ll want to look for uneven wear, bulges, lumps, cracks, or anything that seems concerning. If you notice any of these things, it’s best to get your car to the shop as soon as you can. The second thing you need to do is make sure that your tire pressure is at an ideal range at all times.

The third thing you’ll want to do is bring your car in for alignments at least once a year, or twice a year if your regular drives are filled with bumpy, uneven, pothole-filled roads. Additionally, if you hit the curb, another car, an animal, or big road debris, it’s best to bring your car in to ensure that your wheels have not been misaligned.
